It is an open publication actively involved in systematically shaping and reinforcing teaching as the science of the task of education, helping to find dignifying and humanizing solutions in the diverse educational scenarios found in society.

  1. MISSION:

Educación y Educadores strives to circulate important contributions in multiple areas and at different levels of educational theory and practice, all of which are the product of rigorous research and study by the academic community and by all education  professionals who want to contribute to the journal.

  1. VISION:

Educación y Educadores is an open publication with no methodological limitations to the scope of its institutional vision and nature. It is actively involved in systematically shaping and reinforcing teaching as the science of the task of education, helping to find dignifying and humanizing solutions in the diverse educational scenarios found in society.

  1. EDITORIAL PHLOSOPHY:

The editorial philosophy of Educación y Educadores is founded on a set of principles that includes an understanding of education as free and rational human action of a personal and social nature intended to improve all who take part in it.   Teaching is viewed as the multidimensional science of the task of education, while educators are regarded as direct agents who are committed to a well-rounded education for their students and the advancement of educational knowledge. The function of education in society is seen as a process bent on reshaping social structures towards increasingly fair and supportive ways of relating to others that defend and promote the all-important dignity of the human being.

Out of respect and appreciation for academic pluralism and dialogue, Educación y Educadores does not automatically rule out works that support points of view or educational proposals contrary to its own editorial philosophy, nor does it necessarily agree with the ideas held by contributing authors. They alone are responsible for opinions expressed in their work.

Educación y Educadores is for all education professionals with an interest in their own preparation, in improving their teaching practices, and in reinterpreting and giving new meaning the teaching profession.

  1. SCIENTIFIC AND EDITORIAL BOARD:

The Scientific and Editorial Board ensures the scientific rigor, academic importance and thematic relevance of the contents of the journal.  It also defines policy on the contents published in each issue, appoints peer reviewers, and resolves any differences or conflicts of interest that might arise with respect to the content and approach of an article that might generate controversy, if published.

The Board is comprised of five professionals who have extensive academic backgrounds and institutional ties to national or international organizations in the field of education, to universities or to social science research centers.

CrossMark Policies

What is CrossMark?

It is a Crossref initiative identified with the brand’s flagship icon:

Crossmark

This method guarantees that the reader is accessing the current version of a publication, as long as it displays the CrossMark logo. Click on the logo to access the version history and find information regarding minor or major changes to the published versions. It is also linked to the DOI, ensuring the stability and permanence of updates over time.

In this journal, we upload the PDFs available to the public in two instances:

  1. when the editorial process ends, with the approval of the author and editorial team,
  2. when the last modifications are made to that PDF as a result of a design review for printing purposes.

Adding the CrossMark icon commits our journal to and makes it responsible for notifying and updating readers about any change in an article.

What kind of changes and updates are part of the CrossMark version history?

  • Addendum: Secondary documents that provide additional information about what has been published. It mainly presents other results. The content added will be specified.
  • Correction: New versions with minor changes that do not affect the meaning of the paper, such as typos or otherwise. Any version update due to this type of modification will be informed.
  • Duplicate: If a paper is already published in another medium or republished either due to technical errors or operational accidents, it will be clarified publicly. The appropriate files will be modified and updated in the CrossMark versions.
  • Erratum: Articles for which, after digital or physical publication, significant errors in the writing, images, tables, graphs, references, or otherwise are reported in the available version. The erratum will be specifically mentioned and corrected for the new version.
  • Rectification (corrigendum): When the author of the published article reports errata, the rectification and appropriate corrections will be explained.
  • Elimination: At the relevant authorized party’s request, all available content will be eliminated. Only the article’s citation information and an explanation will be included on the article page and the different means of accessing the content.
