Knowledge: Qualitative Assessment and Management
Keywords:
assessment, qualitative assessment, knowledge management, teaching method, learning method (Source, Unesco Thesaurus).Abstract
The present article discusses the sorts of qualitative assessments applied to teaching and learning strategies, based on a knowledge management approach. The latter is an educational practice with a holistic vision of teaching and a constructivist view of learning. The article was developed through an exhaustive review of different authors who make reference to qualitative assessment and to the processes for knowledge generation and management. Teaching and learning strategies were applied, as were the different sorts of qualitative assessment: artistic, democratic, responsive, illuminated and integrated, which were associated with learning processes.
In conclusion, each sort of qualitative assessment makes it possible to evaluate the ability to manage knowledge, depending on the object of the assessment, its focus and the orientation of the assessment strategy. In no case are the different sorts of assessments exclusive. Several can be applied at once and even altogether in a complementary way for a comprehensive assessment of the application of knowledge management as a method for teaching and learning.
