Assessment of Teaching Practice in the Chilean Education Reform
Keywords:
Teaching skills, education reform, secondary teaching, teaching practice, Chile(Source, Unesco Thesaurus).Abstract
The objective of this study is to know how teachers feel about the Education Reform in Chile and its effects on the Language and Communication Program for fourthyear students (in secondary education). This is a qualitative research project, based on a case study and supported by ethnographic techniques. The findings show teachers view the reform as impracticable, given the inability to modify teaching practice per se. These reflections highlight a pending task that hinges on the need to training teachers to innovate in the classroom.
