The school, from myth to reality
Abstract
The essay develops four basic ideas: The increasing relativization of fundamental values by the Colombian society which leads to a lack of commitment in our people to transform the country, and the idea of knowledge explosion are developed. Besides these, the consequences of these two realities on educational practice are analized.
Finally, it is discussed the existing disparity between what is actually taught at schools and Universities and what teachers should be teaching and doing in these institutions.
