Abstract

This article explores the effect disclosure of corporate governance practices has on the positioning of organizations. The case of 20 Latin American institutions of higher education (IHE) is analyzed according to their QS university ranking. A simple descriptive and correlational methodology was used in the study. The conclusion is that the work of disseminating information on corporate governance by IHE would not be an important determinant for their recognition. This situation goes against what is expressed in the theoretical arguments on corporate governance.
