Abstract

This paper aims at asking teachers of arts and especially dance teachers, a series of questions about their role as aesthetic creators in the spirit of the new generations. To do this, the paper articulates a series of concepts in order to generate a deep thinking process about the day-after-day activities of dance pedagogy in the school.

Pedagogizing dance suggests deliberate examination of the nature of human expression, because improvisation -from the perspective of incompetence and non-planning- is not admissible, neither as a form of artistic formation of girls and boys nor as far as the process of creation of scenic products is concerned. Therefore, the teacher is required to display a high degree of creativity. Dance is to ludics as love is to life.

The paper does not intend to tell the what to do but rather to deal with the why and the what for the mise-en-scene of dance in the school, in order to take advantage of the human potential that carries along with it a natural artistic expression.
