Abstract

The world we live in, is going through crisis due to social inequalities, wars, etc. However, the University can still be considered the place to look for shelter when facing these situations, even when it is also being affected by all types of crisis, and the institution that in the past was a headlight, today looks exhausted and can hardly glow.

Technological temerity has lead men into great exploits, but it has forgotten what is most important: giving solutions to serious social problems, some of which are the result of carelessness and others are simply impossible to handle. Meanwhile, study and research aimed at advances in science must be intensified.

Since the beginning of modern times, the University has made an effort to permeate all fields of human endeavour and to leave a legacy of knowledge that can be used for improvement in all aspects of social organization.
