Educación y Educadores – Changes in our description, focus, scope, and publication frequency
Dear community,
We want to share with you that Educación y Educadores has updated its “About the Journal” section, a space where we share with you our description, focus, scope, and publication frequency.
We highlight the expansion of the journal’s subject areas, whose adjustment represents a convergence between the essence of the traditional papers published in Educación y Educadores, the emerging publishing characteristic of science and academia, and an analysis of publication trends in our discipline that we wish to encourage in future manuscript submissions.
We share these thematic lines with you:
- Educational systems, policy, and educational transformations: Includes studies on the dynamics, tensions, and transformations of educational systems at their different levels, as well as analyses of policies, governance, management, and evaluation in education, approached from diverse and contextualized perspectives.
- Pedagogy, didactics, and innovation: Brings together research on pedagogical and didactic processes, the construction of educational knowledge, and transformations in teaching and learning practices across diverse contexts and modalities.
- Professionalism, teacher education, and professional development: Includes studies on the teaching profession in its ethical, social, and institutional dimensions, as well as research on initial and continuing teacher education, professional development trajectories, pedagogical knowledge, teacher identities, and the conditions under which educational practice is shaped and transformed in relation to the contemporary challenges of education.
Additionally, we changed our publication frequency from three (3) issues per volume to two (2), without affecting the continuous publication of articles as soon as the editorial process is completed. We established a minimum of 10 peer-reviewed articles per issue.
Finally, we also want to share that we will open the possibility of publishing supplementary issues: monographs or special issues, with guest editors or through independent calls for papers, to address publication topics of interest to the journal or emerging issues within our disciplinary field. These issues will likewise be peer-reviewed and supervised by the editorial team to ensure integrity, quality, and rigor in the processes.
We thank everyone who has been part of this project, whose goal is to become a benchmark in educational publications, both for Colombia and for the world.
Kind regards,
Editorial Team
Educación y Educadores
