Abstract

This article is divided into three parts, one of which is published in this issue. It makes a tigorous analysis of Plato's thought about education and culture. The author deals, in this firs section, with the concept of Paideia differentiating it from the simple Trophe, or intellectual nutrition. It shows, from Platon's texts, the goals he state for education, the way they are attained, the characteristics individuals in the educational process should hace, and the training types the should engage in for embodying the citizen's Greel ideal.
