Higher education faces the challenge of integrating knowledge management, learning management systems, and pedagogical practices as part of institutional digital transformation processes. This study examined the international scientific production on this relationship, aiming to identify collaboration patterns, central actors, conceptual structures and the trends shaping the field. The methodology was bibliometric and scientometric, with a quantitative approach and non-experimental observational design. The corpus consisted of 5436 records indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, processed with the Bibliometrix package in R, based on indicators of productivity, international collaboration, geographical distribution and thematic evolution. The analysis reveals a shift from approaches focused on technological adoption toward data-driven models of educational governance, in which learning management systems have ceased to function merely as operational tool and have become strategic infrastructures for decision-making. Artificial intelligence, learning analytics and hybrid models are consolidating as the most dynamic lines of development, while geographical gaps condition institutional capacity to adopt these models. The relationship among the three constructs studied proves to be structural in nature for contemporary university governance, which calls for further research on their incidence in the quality, equity and sustainability of higher education.
