The objective of this research article is to characterize the intersemiotic relationships of cooperation, weak and strong specialization, identified in a tenth grade when they argue in science class about climate change. The research is qualitative with a comprehensive scope, case study modality, which analyzes the content in four language modes (oral, gestural, written and visual) used by students (13-15 years old) of a Colombian educational institution during their participation in discussion and debate scenarios on the socio-scientific problem of climate change. The results of the intersemiotic relationships of a student are presented in four stages of the research, where in moments one and two, cooperative relationships between two modes of language (oral-gestural, and written-visual), and the relationships of specialization between the four language modes, and in moments three and four, it is evident that both relationships occur in all modes, a relevant aspect, due to the possibilities offered by representing and communicating different types of content in each language ( social and scientific), which facilitates evolution towards a more abstract representation of the environmental problem of climate change.
