Present day circumstances do not allow for careful thinking, either on one’s own actions or on theories in an informationoverloaded context. This paper proposes the exercising of thought and, specially, of reflective thought as a fundamental strategy in teacher formation to attain a change in the school and an improvement in the quality of education. Reflective thought has been dealt with by several disciplines such as philosophy, psychology and pedagogy, as it allows an awareness of one’s own self, knowledge, deficiencies and actions, when applying reasoning and critical analysis on theorization and action, in order to evaluate reality by observing it, relating it, criticizing it so as to draw qualified judgements when using levels until reaching the last one, thus providing creative and effective solutions to its praxis.Downloads
