Scientific Education: Current Perceptions and Challenges

The study describes experiences in scientific education developed at different educational levels within the Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas in Santa Clara (Cuba). The methodology emphasizes the use of systematization for an analysis of data that was obtained by applying diagnostic tools at different moments in the period from 2012 to 2015 and features an in-depth look at the references provided in the literature that was consulted, particularly the sources related to the didactics of science and studies on science, technology and society (CTS). Also highlighted are the main challenges to be faced in an effort to achieve the sort of education that current scientific development requires by expanding and intensifying its role from the standpoint of schooling.Downloads
